Why Thermotex™ is Different than Conventional Heating Pads or Hot Towels.

Equine studies have shown therapy applications with infrared energy penetrate 2.36 inches after 20 minutes. Heating pads, which provide topical conductive heat, penetrate only a fraction of an inch. This depth of penetration was substantiated in a study done by Dr. Ronald J. Riegel.

Thermotex™ infrared systems operate at surface temperatures between 40C - 45C, heating pads on the other hand are often in excess of 55C. Heating pads try to force heat energy into the body but in fact, the lower the infrared device temperature, the deeper the energy penetrates into the body. A Thermotex™ system has a high and low setting. Placed on high for 10 minutes, the unit comes up to operational speed quickly. When it gets warm though, you must change the setting to low. You do not want the device to be hot. The lower the temperature, the deeper the infrared energy goes into your body. As a result, our products will not burn or dehydrate the skin, as is often the case with the hot towel method. Furthermore, a hot towel does not retain an even temperature. It typically cools below the therapeutic range within 5 to 10 minutes and never penetrates as deep as infrared heat will. For consistent applications of therapeutic infrared energy stimulation where you need it most, you need Thermotex™ therapy!
